10 Ways I Knew Emily Was “The One”

Scot and Emily Getting into a committed relationship is scary. As much as we hope the person we’re with is our “one and only”, everybody knows the reality of divorce rates.

Even so, I remain appalled by how many people willingly jump like lemmings off a cliff into an exclusive relationship—or even marriage—with Mr. or Ms. Wrong.

The crazy part is most people who settle are fully aware they’re doing so. Such bad relationship decisions may be driven by a biological clock that’s ticking, ulterior motives (e.g. money, citizenship), low self-esteem or even gnawing loneliness.

But how ironic is it that we have so much trouble positively identifying the right relationship when it comes along? Indeed, I get asked all the time how to be sure one’s significant other is really significant enough.

That’s because, good grief…I’m the right guy to ask. After a turbulent first marriage and a devastating divorce, why in the world would I ever get married again…especially when I had successfully crafted a lifestyle of dating many high-quality women at once?

Man, if there’s anything that tends to completely vex guys all over the world, it’s got to be the whole concept of making women laugh.

Deep down, we know women find men with a sense of humor irresistible.

But wait a minute. Do we really have to actually make women bust their gut laughing all the time in order to come off as having a “sense of humor”?

That’s not only a really good question, it’s the question that my co-host Elaine Davis and I break down the answer to on this latest episode of The Chick Whisperer podcast.

If you don’t know Elaine, she happens to be the only dating coach I know of who’s also a professional stand-up comedian (as in, with paid gigs at places like The Laugh Factory in LA, and all that). The Man’s Approach Is Now Available

Ask any guy what his #1 challenge is when it comes to women and he’ll tell you: It’s gathering up the courage to actually approach them and start conversations with them.

Indeed, the issue is nothing short of pandemic worldwide, attested to by the ever-increasing number of “pickup artist” training courses available out there.

But wait a minute. What if a particular guy isn’t exactly so interested in becoming a “pickup artist”? What if he’s a pretty “normal” guy who’d simply like to have a great girlfriend, and perhaps even a terrific wife someday?

The Chick Whisperer Podcast #38: Quit Making Things So Complicated

When I called up the Adonis Effect’s Brad Howard and extended the long-overdue invitation to co-host the podcast with me, I also asked him to suggest a topic. This is pretty typical, since the shows are always best when we riff on whatever the co-host’s specialty is.

Well, Brad wasted no time when faced with this question.

“Oh, that’s an easy one. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how difficult we as guys try to make meeting and relating to women out to be. But really, it just doesn’t have to be all that hard, you know?”

I instinctively knew that was a winner of an idea.

After all, not only did I agree 100% with his opinion on the matter, we had never actually talked about it on the show.

So 52 minutes of recording later, that all had changed. Now you can listen to Episode 38 of the world famous Chick Whisperer podcast and decide for yourself whether we’re on to something here, or whether we’re completely off base.

But one thing’s for sure, if you don’t do any listening, then you certainly can’t do any deciding. Right?

The Master Plan — You Already Are A “Natural”

Lately there’s been lots of talk about “natural game”…as if all we need to do is emulate a guy who we see as a “natural”, and we’ll somehow become more attractive to women.

Now sure, having some guys who are great with women show you the ropes isn’t such a bad idea. But do we really need to copy someone else’s entire persona in order to successfully attract the kind of women we want?

Well, a lot of us as guys have been suspecting something all along: We are all “naturals”. By being born male, we’re supposed to be attractive to women by our very nature. Simply put, you were BORN to attract women.

How To Have More Fun On Twitter [Video Blog]

OK, so check it out. I realize that you’re probably thinking I must have a firm grasp of the obvious posting a video with a title like this.

After all, shouldn’t everyone be having fun on Twitter automatically? I mean, that should happen by default. Or so you’d think, at least.

Well, even though there are “haters”, nit pickers and even sneaky Amway reps among us, it doesn’t have to harsh your buzz. In fact, I can think of several ways to take your existing level on the Twitter Enjoyment Index (TEI?) and make it skyrocket through the roof…pretty much effortlessly, I might add. Here’s the video. It’s exactly five minutes flat…booyah.

So what did I miss here? Any other ideas on how to make Twitter fun? Sock it to me below, but no…posting “inappropriate” pictures of @emilymckay doesn’t count as an “idea”. But I admire your determination.

By the way, has anyone else ever noticed that people’s demeanor on Twitter tends to match the look on their face in their avatar photos with uncanny accuracy? Come to think of it, I guess that makes me a sly smartass…but an affable sort, at least.
