Relationship Mastery 101 — And Now For Something Completely Different

When Lance Taylor called me last year telling me what he had in mind for a project, it took me a while before I was able to completely grasp what he was saying.
As he described his vision, I could’ve sworn he was actually thinking about getting a dogpile of pickup artists together and having them talk about how to succeed in actual relationships with women.
At first I thought this was crazy talk. But then again, I was one of the first guys he called, so I was happy to listen since there must have been some reason he picked up the phone and dialed my digits.
And as it turned out, I wasn’t imagining things after all. Lance was going to compile a series featuring some world-class seduction experts. And they were going to talk about long-term success with women.
Now I’m not a “pickup artist”, per se. But I’ll tell you, the concept was fascinating. After talking to Lance, I was absolutely thrilled to submit some of my very best material to him for that project of his.
fast forward six or eight months later, and I have to tell you…it’s STILL fascinating.
Only now, there’s a finished product.
Lance has dubbed it Relationship Mastery 101, and it’s a barnburner.
For starters, he has compiled the work of seventeen guys into a cohesive unit. Some of them are big names, and others are relatively unknown as of yet…which makes for a really cool mix.
I have to tell you, I still get cross-eyed sometimes looking at my name on his web site next to some of the dyed-in-the-wool PUAs on the list. But, the more I think about it, the more I realize that such is the beauty of Lance’s creation.
At first glance, it kind of has the feel of a mini-version of the VIRTUOSITY co-instructed program section. But when you take a closer look, you’ll note two MAJOR differences.
First, every one of his guests is focused on a common topic: long-term relationship success. That alone is unique, and a welcome departure in this “beyond pickup mindset” that we’re absolutely heading toward in the world of men’s dating advice.
Second, this is in e-book form rather than audio or video. Those who are into immediate gratification can pick up the e-book and start reading immediately.
That also keeps the price tag an absolute bargain, at least for now.
Lance is talking about offering each guy’s respective contribution as a separate e-book. But for now, you can get the entire shebang for “one easy payment” of $49.95.
There are even some killer bonus tacked on (including one from me) just for good measure.
I’ve actually downloaded and read Relationship Mastery 101. And no, this isn’t some “he sent it to me and I tore through it like a t-bone steak” prefab marketing line.
Lance sent it to me, and of course I proofed my own section.
But then a funny thing happened: I got drawn in to reading some of the other guys’ material. What a blast! I loved seeing new angles from some guys I knew already–and from several of whom I didn’t.
But my absolute favorite thing about Relationship Mastery 101 is how it keeps your brain engaged through the juxtaposition of SO MANY different styles. And some of these guys don’t always “play nice” and agree with each other, so there are some opposing viewpoints.
The beauty of this “fair and balanced” approach is that YOU DECIDE what resonates with you. It really keeps you on your toes, and in the end you have so much you can practically apply that you’re excited to start as soon as possible.
Great, great stuff. We need more mental stimulation in the world of men’s dating and seduction advice. And I assure you this is part of the solution.

I’m very glad to hear many of the PUA’s are coming to a realization that I made years ago. You can work on yourself and you can work on your persona and through doing so, you can put out an energy that will attract someone. But it’s only within a longer, more intimate relationship that a lot of issues present themselves. And nobody can sustain a persona for that long if it isn’t authentic.
I was very interested in PUA for many years and it helped me learn a lot about initiating relationships. But it left me painfully clueless about everything else going on in relationships. A lot of what I’ve learned since, and the new ideas I’m struggling to understand, are covered in my post Choosing Intimate Partners: To Repeat or Not to Repeat?.
I’m very interested in discussing these issues with people who both understand the PUA mindset, as well as the dynamics of longer term real intimacy. For me, that connection has long been missing in the community.

Thanks Scot. I think it’s a natural evolution within the community for people to realize that pickup has its benefits, but, like almost anything, can be used unwisely. The biggest concern for me is that it can be used addictively, rather than as part of a balanced, healthy life.
